Suspension

Suspension is a type of dosage form in which solid particles are suspended in a liquid medium. The particles do not dissolve in the liquid and remain suspended due to their size and the viscosity of the liquid. Suspensions are used for drugs that are not soluble in water or for drugs that need to be delivered in a specific particle size for improved absorption. They are usually shaken before use to ensure that the particles are evenly distributed. Examples of suspension drugs include suspensions for oral use, such as suspensions for antibiotics and suspensions for topical use, such as suspensions for skin conditions.
