Glycerol + Hypromellose + Polyethylene Glycol 400
Glycerol + Hypromellose + Polyethylene Glycol 400 is an ophthalmic preparation. When applied to the eyes, it rapidly forms a thin film that has lubricative, moisturizing and protective action. It has similar concentration of electrolytes as tear produced by the lacrimal glands.
Glycerol + Hypromellose + Polyethylene Glycol 400 is indicated for the following conditions-
- Eye burning
- Eye irritation
- Conjunctivitis
- Dry eyes
The usual dosage is 1-2 drops in each eye up to 4 times per day.
This is a well tolerated preparation. Occasionally the following side effects may appear-
- Sticky feeling in the eyes
- Blurred vision
- The user is advised to remove contact lenses before use.
- Avoid contamination of the container with dirty or unclean surface.
Contraindication
Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any component of the formulation.
There is no known contraindications of the preparation in terms of food and drinks.
