Remarks

Phenylepherine Hydrochloride + Tropicamide

Phenylephrine hydrochloride + Tropicamide is a combination drug consisting of a vasoconstrictor (phenylephrine) and an anticholinergic (tropicamide). Phenylephrine is a selective α1-adrenergic receptor agonist that causes vasoconstriction, while tropicamide blocks the muscarinic receptors in the eye, causing dilation of the pupil (mydriasis) and paralysis of the ciliary muscle (cycloplegia).

Phenylephrine hydrochloride + Tropicamide is indicated for use in diagnostic procedures, including examination of the fundus and posterior segment of the eye, iritis, and uveitis. It may also be used in preoperative and postoperative eye procedures.

The dosage of Phenylephrine hydrochloride + Tropicamide is to be determined by the physician depending on the procedure to be performed.
