Remarks

Diosmin + Hesperidin

Diosmin + Hesperidin is a combination drug classified as a venotonic agent. It is composed of two bioflavonoids, Diosmin and Hesperidin, which work synergistically to improve venous tone and circulation. The exact mechanism of action is not fully understood, but it is believed to enhance venous vasomotor tone, reduce venous distensibility, and improve lymphatic drainage.

Diosmin + Hesperidin is indicated for the treatment of venous insufficiency and related symptoms, including:

  • Chronic venous insufficiency
  • Varicose veins
  • Hemorrhoids

Diosmin 450 mg & Hesperidin 50 mg-

  • Acute hemorrhoidal attacks: 3 tablets twice daily for the first 4 days, then 2 tablets twice daily for three days and if required 1 tablet twice daily as a maintenance dosage.
  • Chronic hemorrhoids: 1 tablet twice daily.
  • Chronic venous insufficiency: 1 tablet twice daily initially for seven days. Duration may be increased depending on severity.

Diosmin 900 mg & Hesperidin 100 mg-

  • Acute Hemorrhoid: 1 tablet thrice daily for first 4 days, followed by 1 tablet twice daily for 3 days & then 1 tablet once daily as maintenance dose.
  • Relapse of Internal Hemorrhoid & Chronic Hemorrhoid: 1 tablet once daily for 3 months.
  • Chronic venous insufficiency: 1 tablet once daily for 2-6 months.
  • Leg Wounds: 1 tablet once daily for 2 months.

The following side effects may occur with the use of Diosmin + Hesperidin-

  • Gastrointestinal disturbances (such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation)
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Skin rash or allergic reactions

  • If the symptoms of hemorrhoids persist beyond a 15-day period, it is advisable for the patient to consult their doctor for guidance.
  • A small number of breast cancer patients with lymphedema resulting from surgical and nodal irradiation treatment have received Diosmin at doses up to 900 mg per day. This treatment has been found to reduce arm swelling but has no effect on the cancer itself.
  • Studies conducted on animals and over 20 years of clinical use in Europe have not provided any evidence of the components of Diosmin and Hesperidin causing cancer or genetic mutations when used as recommended. However, as a precautionary measure, Diosmin and Hesperidin is not recommended for patients with a history of cancer, as specific studies have not been conducted in this particular population.
  • Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergies to Diosmin, Hesperidin, or any other ingredients in the product.
  • Consult a healthcare professional before using Diosmin + Hesperidin during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • If symptoms worsen or persist, consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation.
  • Avoid exceeding the recommended dosage, as it may not provide additional benefits and could increase the risk of adverse effects.
  • Diosmin + Hesperidin may interact with certain medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal products.
