Tolperisone Hydrochloride

Tolperisone Hydrochloride is a centrally acting muscle relaxant drug. It works by acting on the motor neurons in the spinal cord and brainstem, leading to inhibition of muscle spasm without affecting muscle strength.

 

Tolperisone Hydrochloride is indicated for the treatment of acute muscle spasms associated with conditions such as low back pain, cervical syndrome, and whiplash injury. It can also be used as an adjunct to physical therapy and rest.

 

The recommended dose of Tolperisone Hydrochloride is 50-150 mg three times a day. The dose can be adjusted based on individual response and tolerance. The drug can be taken with or without food.

  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Dry mouth
  • Nausea

  • Patients with a history of epilepsy or seizure disorders should use Tolperisone Hydrochloride with caution.
  • The drug should not be used in pregnancy or lactation unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus or infant.
  • Tolperisone Hydrochloride should be used with caution in patients with a history of drug abuse or dependence.
  • Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Tolperisone Hydrochloride or any of its components should not use the drug.

 

Contraindication

Tolperisone Hydrochloride is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its components.

 

The drug should not be used in patients with severe liver or kidney disease.
