Tulobuterol Hydrochloride
Tolubuterol Hydrochloride is beta 2 adrenergic receptor agonist. Beta 2 receptors are predominantly located in the trachea and air ways. Activation of the receptor causes relaxation of smooth muscles which causes bronchodialation.
Tolubuterol Hydrochloride is indicated in-
- Asthma
- Bronchospasm
- COPD
- Exercise-Induced Bronchospasm Prevention
Oral
Bronchodilator
Adult: Initially, 1-2 mg twice a day, increase to 2 mg thrice a day if necessary.
Child: 1-6 yr: 0.25-0.5 mg twice a day, 6-10 yr: 0.5-1 mg twice a day, 10-14 yr: 1-1.5 mg twice a day.
Child: 1-6 yr: 0.25-0.5 mg twice a day, 6-10 yr: 0.5-1 mg twice a day, 10-14 yr: 1-1.5 mg twice a day.
Transdermal

Adult: 2 mg as transdermal patch once daily. To be used with anti-inflammatory therapy.
Side effects include-
- Fine tremor of skeletal muscle
- palpitations
- muscle cramps
- tachycardia
- tension
- headache
- edema
- hypersensitivity reactions
Special precautions should be taken in-
- Hyperthyroidism
- myocardial insufficiency
- arrhythmias
- QT-interval prolongation
- hypertension
- Diabetes mellitus
Contraindication
Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any component of the medication.
None known.
Contraindicated in Pheochromocytoma.
