Wool Alcohol

Wool alcohol is the principal constituent of Lanolin. Lanolin is a natural substance derived from sheep's fleece. Anhydrous lanolin is made by extracting sebum from wool, cleaning it, and refining it. This is divided into three parts: wool alcohols, fatty alcohols, and fatty acids.

Wool alcohol is used to treat the following skin conditions-

  • Diaper rash
  • Skin irritation
  • Minor burns
  • Ichthyosis
  • Dry skin

Wool alcohol is available as a topical cream. Apply topically to affected skin as needed.

The majority of emollients can be used safely and effectively without causing any adverse effects. Rarely, skin irritation can occur.

  • Lanolin is present in this medicine. If you are allergic to lanolin or any of the ingredients in Lanaphilic or Lan-O-Soothe, do not use it.
  • Keep out of children's reach. In the event of an overdose, seek medical attention or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
