Xylometazoline Hydrochloride
Xylometazoline is a sympathomimetic that selectively agonizes α1 and, partially, α2 adrenergic receptors. Since vascular beds widely express α1 receptors, the action of Xylometazoline results in vasoconstriction. As a result vascular leakage is inhibited.
Oxymetazoline is a nasal decongestant used to relieve nasal congestion and runny nose caused by colds, allergies, and hay fever. Oxymetazoline is also used to relieve sinus congestion and pressure.
