Acetylsalicylic Acid + Ascorbic Acid is a NSAID. It is used as an analgesic and antipyretic. It is available as effervescent tablets.
Each effervescent tab contains aspirin 400 mg and ascorbic acid 240 mg. 1-2 tablets, may repeat 4-8 hourly, if necessary. Max: 3-6 tablets daily.
Side effects associated with Acetylsalicylic Acid + Ascorbic Acid
- Dizziness
- dyspepsia
- nausea
- vomiting
- erosion
- ulceration
- hematemesis
- melaena
- Prolonged use of high doses may cause anaemia, blood dyscrasia, GI hemorrhage and peptic ulceration.
- Children with varicella or influenza-like diseases are at risk for Reye's syndrome.
- Without medical advice, do not use for more than 10 days.
- To avoid or lessen the risk of bleeding issues, treatment should be stopped one week before to surgery.
- In patients with impaired renal function, significant hepatic impairment, a history of GI problems such as peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn's disease, dyspepsia, and when the patient is dehydrated, use with caution.
- Caution should be exercised in Lactation and pregnancy.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other salicylates such as-
- 5 Aminosalicylic Acidn or ascorbic acid
Concomitant administration with anticoagulants such as-
Contraindicated in patients with severe renal problems.
