Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate
Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate is a combination medication used to treat the symptoms of hyperacidity and related conditions. They work together by neutralizing excessive gastric acid produced in the stomach.
Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate is indicated for the following conditions-
- Gastric acidity
- Dyspepsia
- Flatulence
- Gastric ulcer
- Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate is available as suspension.
- The usual dosage is 3 to 4 teaspoon after meals or as needed. It should also be taken before bedtime.
Side effects of Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate include-
- diarrhea
- abdominal pain
- nausea
- constipation
- taste disturbance (metallic taste, chalky taste)
- milk-alkali syndrome
- Hypermagnesemia can occur if renal function is reduced.
- Unless your doctor advises otherwise, do not give to children under the age of five.
- Use within 28 days of opening.
- It contains sodium methyl and sodium propyl para-hydroxybenzoates (E219 and E217), both of which have the potential to cause allergic responses (possibly delayed).
Contraindication
- Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any component of the medication.
- Coadministration with tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics is contraindicated-
There's no known contraindications of the medication in terms of food and drinks.
Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate is contraindicated in-
- Hypophosphatemia
