Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate

Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate is a combination medication used to treat the symptoms of hyperacidity and related conditions. They work together by neutralizing excessive gastric acid produced in the stomach.

Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate is indicated for the following conditions-

  • Gastric acidity
  • Dyspepsia
  • Flatulence
  • Gastric ulcer
  • Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate is available as suspension.
  • The usual dosage is 3 to 4 teaspoon after meals or as needed. It should also be taken before bedtime.

Side effects of Aluminium Hydroxide + Magnesium Trisilicate include-

  • diarrhea
  • abdominal pain
  • nausea
  • constipation
  • taste disturbance (metallic taste, chalky taste)
  • milk-alkali syndrome
  • Hypermagnesemia can occur if renal function is reduced.
  • Unless your doctor advises otherwise, do not give to children under the age of five.
  • Use within 28 days of opening.
  • It contains sodium methyl and sodium propyl para-hydroxybenzoates (E219 and E217), both of which have the potential to cause allergic responses (possibly delayed).

Contraindication

There's no known contraindications of the medication in terms of food and drinks.

  • Hypophosphatemia
