Benzoyl Peroxide + Erythromycin

Benzoyl Peroxide + Erythromycin is a combination medicine. Erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide work together to eliminate the germs that cause acne. Benzoyl peroxide also works by causing the skin to dry and peel off.

This medication is mainly used to treat acne.

The medication should be applied evenly on the surface of the acne such that no obvious film is visible.

Benzoyl Peroxide + Erythromycin may cause the following side effects.

  • Dry skin
  • Peeling, itching, stinging, burning, tingling, or redness of the skin
  • Oily, tender, or discolored skin

Erythromycin can cause serious allergic reactions in patients hypersensitive to erythromycin or any macrolides.

Contraindication

Benzoyl Peroxide + Erythromycin is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to macrolides or any component of the medication.
