Calamine + Zinc Oxide

Calamine and Zinc Oxide lotion is a combination of two topical antipruritic agents. Calamine is a mixture of zinc oxide and ferric oxide that helps relieve itching and irritation, while zinc oxide acts as a skin protectant. Calamine works by cooling and soothing the skin, and zinc oxide forms a barrier on the skin's surface, protecting it from further irritation.

Calamine and Zinc Oxide lotion is used topically to relieve minor skin irritations, itching, and rashes due to poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac, as well as insect bites, sunburn, and minor burns. It is also used for the treatment of diaper rash.

For topical use only. Shake the lotion well before use. Apply a thin layer of the lotion to the affected area 2-4 times a day, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Possible adverse reactions may include skin irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. In rare cases, an allergic reaction may occur, which may include hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

  • Do not apply Calamine and Zinc Oxide lotion to large areas of the body, deep or puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns, as it may cause toxicity due to zinc oxide absorption.
  • Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, or other mucous membranes. In case of accidental contact, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen after 7 days of use.
  • Do not use Calamine and Zinc Oxide lotion if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store at room temperature (15°C - 30°C), away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
