Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid

Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid is a combination of a high potency corticosteroid and a keratolytic agent. Clobetasol propionate is a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic agent that softens and loosens dry, scaly, or thickened skin.

 

Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid is indicated for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis, dry skin, scaly skin in adults.

 

Apply a thin layer of Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid to the affected area twice daily, in the morning and at night. Rub in gently and completely. Wash hands after application.

 

The most common adverse reactions include-

  • Peeling of the skin
  • Thinning of the skin
  • Burning, itching, irritation, and redness at the application site

 

  • Do not apply Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid to the face, groin, or underarms unless directed by a healthcare provider.
  • Do not use for more than 2 weeks without consulting a healthcare provider.
  • Do not use occlusive dressings or apply the medication to large areas of the body.
  • Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to corticosteroids or salicylic acid.
  • Use in pediatric patients should be under the guidance of a healthcare provider.

 

Contraindication

Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components.

 

Clobetasol Propionate + Salicylic Acid should not be used on open wounds or damaged skin.
