Colistin Sulphate + Spiramycine

Colistin Sulphate + Spiramycine is antibiotic combination for veterinary use. Colistin Sulphate disrupts the bacterial cell membrane, leading to bacterial death. Spiramycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the bacterial ribosome.

 

Colistin Sulphate + Spiramycin is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, and urogenital infections caused by bacteria susceptible to the combination of these drugs in cattle, sheep, and goats.

 

Intra muscular injection: 1 ml/ 8-10 kg BW
Dosage interval 24 to 48 hours if necessary.
Note: Do not inject over 20ml at one site.

 

Colistin Sulphate + Spiramycine is generally well tolerated by the animals at the recommended dosage. But the following side effects may appear-

  • anorexia
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • This combination of antibiotics should not be used in animals that are hypersensitive to Colistin or Spiramycin.
  • Use with caution in animals with renal impairment as both drugs are eliminated through the kidneys.
  • Prolonged use of antibiotics may result in bacterial or fungal overgrowth, which may require cessation of treatment and appropriate therapy.
  • Do not use in animals intended for human consumption.
  • Use with caution in pregnant or lactating animals.

Contraindication

Do not use for animals with hypersensitivity to any component of the medicine.

 

Do not use for animals with kidneys failure.
