Bacitracin Zinc

Bacitracin is an antibiotic that works against few strains of gram positive bacteria e.g. streptococcus and staphylococcus. It is used as a topical ointment & powder.

Bacitracin is used in the following cases-

Skin infection Eye infection
Applied 1 to 3 times daily uniformly over the infected/ injured surface of the skin The ointment should be applied directly into the conjunctival sac 1 to 3 times daily.

Tropical bacitracin has very little to no side effects. Allergic reactions can occur. In such cases the patient should no longer use the medication.

Bacitracin should never be taken orally or systemically. It is highly nephrotoxic.

Contraindication

This product should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Bacitracin.

There is no known contra indication of bacitracin in terms of food and drinks.

There is no known contra indication of bacitracin in terms of patients health.
