Rhubarb + Salicylic Acid
Rhubarb + Salicylic Acid is a combination medication composed of rhubarb extract and salicylic acid. It is used as a topical medication.
Rhubarb + Salicylic Acid is indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain associated with recurrent
- mouth ulcers
- denture irritation.
Adults (including the elderly) and children 16 years and over: The medication is to be applied to the inflamed oral mucosa (after removing any dentures) three or four times daily using the brush provided. Seek medical advice if no improvement in condition is seen. Maximum length of treatment is 7 days.
Side effects of Rhubarb + Salicylic Acid include-
- Teeth discoloration (transient)
- Local burning
- Salicylate toxicity can result if the stated frequency of application is exceeded.
- Each bottle of the medication should be used by only one person.
- The medication contains 59.5% alcohol.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the constituents.
Contraindicated in children under 16.
