Choline Salicylate

Choline Salicylate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body that cause pain, inflammation, and fever.

 

Choline Salicylate is used to relieve pain and inflammation caused by conditions such as dental pain, arthritis, and sports injuries. It can also be used to reduce fever.

 

The dosage and administration of Choline Salicylate will depend on the individual's medical condition and response to treatment. It should be taken orally with or after food, as directed by the physician.

  • Adults: The usual dose is 1-2 tablets every 6-8 hours, not to exceed 12 tablets in 24 hours.
  • Children: The use of Choline Salicylate in children should be determined by the physician.

 

The following adverse reactions are possible with Choline Salicylate, but not everyone experiences them. Adverse reactions are listed in order of decreasing frequency:

  • Stomach upset or pain
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Heartburn or indigestion
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Dizziness or headache

Before taking Choline Salicylate, patients should be aware of the following warnings and precautions:

  • This drug can cause stomach bleeding. Patients with a history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding should use this drug with caution.
  • This drug should not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy.
  • Patients who are allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs should not use this drug.
  • Choline Salicylate may interact with other medications such as blood thinners, methotrexate, and lithium. Patients should inform their doctor if they are taking any other medication.
  • Patients should avoid alcohol while taking Choline Salicylate, as it can increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
  • This drug can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Patients should not drive or operate machinery until they know how this drug affects them.

 

Contraindication

Choline Salicylate is contraindicated in patients with Hypersensitivity to salicylates or any component of the formulation

 

Choline Salicylate is contraindicated in patients with-

  • History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
  • Active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Severe hepatic or renal impairment
